Prosthetic Dentistry

Prosthetic dentistry aims to substitute a part of a tooth or a whole tooth, a partial or full set of teeth. First we perform a complex examination of the teeth, including the treatment of other teeth. Then we can design a prosthetic treatment plan, including a price calculation. We put emphasis on an individual approach and communication with the patient. We make facets – substitutes of the missing part of the crown, complete dental crowns, bridges and various types of removable dentures.

Dental crowns, i.e. substitutes of the crown part of the teeth, come in the following varieties: all-metal (silver, financially least demanding), facets (one surface is white), porcelain-fused-to-metal (the inner part of the crown is made of metal and the entire surface is made of ceramics), all-ceramic (most aesthetic alternative). The color shade of the substitute will be selected individually for you according to a sampler at the office, or in cooperation with a laboratory technician.

All the possibilities of prosthetic treatment will be explained to you at the office; together with your dentist, you will select the most suitable one.

What is a crown?

An artificial dental crown is a substitute for the original dental crown that has been lost – damaged by extensive decay or broken.

What is a bridge?

A bridge is a substitute for a completely lost tooth in the form of a denture fixed to two (usually) adjacent teeth. It is a functional and very aesthetic solution of a dental gap. A bridge is “fixed” in your mouth – you don’t take it out and you take care of it as if it were your own teeth.

Is the treatment time-consuming?

Crowns and bridges are made in cooperation with a dental technician which requires several visits.

Two visits within the period of 10 to 14 days will usually suffice.
